2005 Renie Bardeau

During a career that lasted almost 40 years, Disneyland’s chief photographer Renie Bardeau estimates that he took more than half a million pictures of the Happiest Place on Earth. With an almost endless need for images for publications, advertising, marketing and more, Renie always had something to photograph. Whether the occasion was Vice President Nixon and his family at the ribbon cutting for the Monorail or Elizabeth Taylor at her 60th birthday party in Fantasyland, Renie – and his camera – were there. And, of course, he took countless pictures of Walt enjoying the Park. Of all those pictures, none is more famous than the iconic image of Walt walking beneath the arch of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
