2005 Andreas Deja

Andreas Deja began one of the most illustrious careers in Disney animation by doing early character design, costume research and animation for The Black Cauldron. His next assignment was to animate the mouse queen (and her robotic twin) for The Great Mouse Detective. He helped design several of the characters for Oliver and Company before spending a year in London working as a lead animator on Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Back in Burbank, he was the supervising animator of King Triton, in The Little Mermaid, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Jafar in Aladdin and Scar in The Lion King. He next moved to Disney’s Paris animation studio to oversee the animation of Runaway Brain, Mickey Mouse’s first animated short subject in more than 40 years. He returned to Burbank to serve as supervising animator for the title character of Hercules. And he once again animated Mickey Mouse, this time for the host sequences of Fantasia 2000.He returned to feature work by designing and supervising the animation for Lilo in the hit Lilo and Stitch. Since then,he contributed to Home on the Range, the Goofy short How To Hook Up Your Home Theater and the animated sequences in Enchanted. Most recently, he was the supervising animator for Mama Odie in The Princess and the Frog.
