2006 Ahmad Jafari

Ahmad Jafari began his Disney career in 1966, in the engineering department at Disneyland. An architect by trade, Ahmad made the move to WDI in 1969. He spent the next couple of years working on various Disneyland projects, including contributing to Disneyland’s 10-year master plan. For Walt Disney World, he designed the Canada and Morocco pavilions at Epcot and the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village (now The Marketplace portion of Downtown Disney). Ahmad was the Park Master Planner and Project Architect for Frontierland and Adventureland in Disneyland Paris. He also was the project design director (responsible for master planning, concept and design development) for Disney's Animal Kingdom and designed the Hotel MiraCosta at Tokyo DisneySea. His final job before retiring was as principal concept architect for Hong Kong Disneyland. In addition to responsibilities for the entire park, he designed the castle, the Lion King Theater and PhilharMagic Theater.
