2006 Glenn W. Durflinger, Jr.

Glenn W. Durflinger Jr. began his Disney career in 1965 and retired in 2003. In between, he designed many of the most beloved structures in Disney theme parks and led teams of architects and engineers. Early projects included work on New Orleans Square and the first revamp of Disneyland’s Tomorrowland. He was the assistant project designer of much of the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland, including Cinderella’s Castle. Glenn served as project designer of Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and numerous other attractions. As Director of Architecture for Epcot, Glenn managed all architectural production and interior, graphic and landscaping design for the project. He was project designer for Disney-MGM Studios, facility design director for Mickey’s ToonTown, and worked on several aspects of Hong Kong Disneyland. Glenn also was instrumental in the initiation of the Show Quality Standards department; SQS maintains the original art direction in all attractions in the Disney theme parks.
