2007 Don Hahn

Don Hahn has worked as an animator, production assistant, production manager and director. But his greatest contribution to the Disney legacy has been as a producer. His career as a producer began with Who Framed Roger Rabbit, for which he was associate producer. He next produced two Roger Rabbit short subjects, Tummy Trouble and Roller Coaster Rabbit. His first feature film was Beauty and the Beast which was the first animated film ever nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. His subsequent features include The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Emperor’s New Groove, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and The Haunted Mansion. He also produced three short subjects: Lorenzo, One by One and The Little Matchgirl, which was nominated for an Academy Award as best animated short subject. Most recently, Don has been executive producer of the DisneyNature features Earth and Oceans, and produced Waking Sleeping Beauty, the documentary about the second golden age of Disney animation. In addition to his work as a producer, Don has made many varied contributions to the Disney legacy. These include directing the host sequences of Fantasia 2000, writing the book, Disney’s Animation Magic, and appearing as a host at various film screenings and in DVD special features.
