2008 Toshio Kagami
Much of the credit for the phenomenal success of the Tokyo Disneyland Resort that must go to Toshio Kagami, who worked alongside Masatomo Takahashi from the beginning and, since Takahashi-san’s death, oversaw the opening of Tokyo DisneySea and has directed further expansion of the Resort.
Kagami-san’s Disney connection began in October, 1972, when he joined the Oriental Land Company. His first position was Deputy Director, Real Estate Division. He held numerous positions with Oriental land before assuming his current post, Representative Director, Chairman, and CEO, in June, 2005. As head of the Oriental Land Company, he is not only shepherding the Tokyo Disneyland Resort through its 25th anniversary celebration, but ensuring that it will be a world-class destination long into the future. In addition to his responsibilities at the resort, Kagami-san also leads Disney Store Japan, which is a subsidiary of Oriental Land Company.
