2009 Bill Farmer

Even as a kid, Bill Farmer spouted funny sounds and impersonations. The funny voices yearned to be set free, and in 1982 he put his talent to use at a Dallas comedy club. The act was well-received, leading to other stand-up gigs and eventually landing him in Los Angeles. When his agent asked if he did any Disney characters, his reply was, “Gawrsh – sure! A-hyuck!” He won the role of Goofy (previously voiced by the late Pinto Colvig) and now, more than 20 years later, Bill has become a Disney staple. In addition to Goofy, he provides the barks and whines that give life to Mickey’s canine pal Pluto – as well as voicing incidental characters in A Bug’s Life, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Cars, Monsters, Inc., and other films
