2009 Eric Jacobson

Eric Jacobson began his Disney career in 1972 as a performer with Disneyland Entertainment Productions. After college, he was hired in 1975 as a designer in the Creative Entertainment division at Disneyland.  He transferred to Imagineering a year later, when the company was initiating design efforts on Epcot. After working on Epcot and Tokyo Disneyland, Eric was assigned to the Disney-MGM Studios project, and his first job was as show producer of The Great Movie Ride. Since the opening of the park, Eric has overseen the addition of all new attractions and restaurants, including The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.™ His creative leadership has shaped many additional projects at Walt Disney World, including the new Tomorrowland, The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, Test Track, and Blizzard Beach water park. Most recently, his teams have been responsible for such new attractions as the state-of-the-art 4D Toy Story Midway Mania!, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Monsters, Inc., Laugh Floor, and the very successful re-Imagineering of Spaceship Earth and the Hall of Presidents. Today, as Senior Vice President, Creative Development for Walt Disney Imagineering, he is responsible for directing project teams developing ideas, design, content, art direction and area development for the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, sports and recreation, and other entertainment venues at Disney World.
