Animator Ken O’Connor started at Disney in 1935 and worked as either art director or layout man on 13 features and nearly 100 shorts. During World War II, he worked on such training and propaganda films as Food Will Win the War and Education for Death. He served as the art director for three futuristic films for the Disneyland series and for Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom. Ken retired in 1978. But he returned periodically to work on such projects as Epcot’s Universe of Energy and the short Return to Neverland with Robin Williams and Walter Cronkite, used in the animation tour at Disney-MGM Studios.
