1999 Don Edgren

Don Edgren was working for Wheeler and Grey Structural Engineers when the firm was hired by WED (now Imagineering) to provide the structural engineering, design and detailing to the plans for Disneyland. Don had his hand in the initial construction work on Main Street, Sleeping Beauty Castle and some of Adventureland. After the Park opened, his firm got a call asking if Don might be interested in working for Disney. His first job was as Project Engineer on the Ford pavilion at the 1964 World’s Fair, followed by work as Project Engineer for New Orleans Square and Pirates of the Caribbean. He was responsible for the master planning of Walt Disney World, and his last project before retiring was Tokyo Disneyland.
