1999 Jack Speirs

Jack Speirs accepted a three-week writing assignment at Disney in 1954, and stayed for 25 years. Although Jack was quick to insist that he did not invent the Disneyland show, he did write a format to have Walt open the show and then pass it off to the True-Life Adventures. From that beginning, Jack forged one of the most prolific and varied writing careers at Disney. He wrote more than 300 show introductions, copy for movie trailers, the narration for some True-Life Adventures, seven theatrical films, 40 television shows and various theme park projects, including the first script for Carousel of Progress.
